Common Otherdesk questions.

Does Otherdesk work over the internet?

No. Add the Mac's .local name or LAN address. The iPhone or iPad cannot reach 127.0.0.1 on the Mac.

Can HK Softworks see my screen?

No. HK Softworks cannot see your screen, passwords or server list. Credentials leave the device only when you connect, and only to that Mac.

Where are saved passwords stored?

In this app's Keychain on the device. A device passcode is required to keep a password. Deleting a server removes its saved credentials.

What does the Mac need?

Turn on Screen Sharing in System Settings and allow the account you will use. Requires iOS or iPadOS 26 and Screen Sharing on macOS.

Is Otherdesk on the App Store?

Not yet. Otherdesk is in active development and is not listed on the App Store.
