Type, copy and paste
Open the keyboard in a session, copy text from the Mac and paste text to it.
iPhoneiPad
The session toolbar shows Disconnect, Zoom, Keyboard, Copy and Paste on every iPhone and iPad. Hardware keys also go through to the Mac.

Type
Tap Keyboard to open the software keyboard. The remote key row above it provides Esc, Tab, arrows and modifier keys for Mac shortcuts. Swipe the row to reach more keys. What you type goes to the Mac. A hardware keyboard does the same without opening the software keyboard.
Copy
- Select the text on the Mac.
- Tap Copy. The button shows Copied when the text arrives.
- The text is now on this device, ready to paste in other apps.
If the Mac did not send text, select it again and try Copy once more.
Paste
- Copy text on this device.
- Tap where it should go on the Mac.
- Tap Paste. The text goes to the Mac clipboard and into the focused Mac app, and the button shows Pasted.
If this device’s clipboard holds no text, Otherdesk says there is nothing to paste. Otherdesk pastes text. It does not send files or images through the clipboard.
