We do not use tracking cookies, analytics, ads or fingerprinting. Contact forms, the feedback forms in Swiftflip and Otherdesk and the optional AI features in Swiftflip and Brevier process the information described below.

Controller
HK Softworks AB is the data controller for our software and this website. Privacy questions: robin@hksw.io.
Data we collect
We do not run analytics, ads, pixels or fingerprinting, and we do not create profiles. Contact and product waitlists collect the email you type, plus a name and message on the contact form, and which product a waitlist signup is for. Project inquiries also include the selected service. Formspree processes those submissions on our behalf (formspree.io). We use them only to reply or to tell you when a product ships. What Swiftflip and Brevier's Explain send to us is described below.
Cookies and trackers
None. We set no cookies and run no analytics, ads, pixels or fingerprinting.
Logs
This website stores no logs. The servers behind Swiftflip and Brevier's Explain keep an access log of each request: IP address, time, requested path, response status and the app and system versions your device reports. When Swiftflip's Cloud AI generates your cards, its server also records operational errors: error types and timing. Card content, questions and book text are not logged.
Hold That Tab
Hold That Tab stores your blocklist in iCloud, in your own account. We cannot see it. The app does not send domains or browsing history to HK Softworks.
Swiftflip
Swiftflip stores your flashcards in iCloud, in your own account. We cannot see them.
AI generation is an optional Premium feature. Cloud AI writes the cards on our servers, so it sends card text to us. It is on iPhone, iPad and Mac with macOS 27 or later, and Swiftflip asks before the first request.
What Cloud AI sends
The topic you entered, your instructions and the existing cards in that deck so new ones do not repeat them. Not your images, not your audio and nothing from other decks.
Who processes it
Anthropic writes the cards and returns them through our server to your device. Anthropic does not train its models on these requests and deletes them within 30 days, or keeps them up to two years if its safety systems flag one.
How requests are identified
App Attest and your App Store subscription authenticate each request. We store a keyed hash of your App Store transaction ID. Apple does not give us your name or email, and the hash cannot be reversed to you. It is also the identifier we send to Anthropic.
What we keep
Hourly request counts, a lease while a generation runs and App Attest key records, against keyed hashes like the one above. We delete request counts after an hour, leases within minutes and a key record 90 days after it was last used. Card content is never written to our database.
Explore
Explore downloads free event decks from our server. Each request sends your device's language. App Attest and the App Store's signed record of your copy of Swiftflip confirm the request comes from Swiftflip. We keep the App Attest key record against a keyed hash of that record and delete it 90 days after it was last used. Adding a deck and practising it send nothing.
Feedback
Send Feedback and Report a Problem open a form in the app. It sends your message, the email address you type if you want a reply, the app and system versions, your device model and language, and what the report is about: the action that failed or the event card you are reporting. App Attest and the App Store's signed record of your copy of Swiftflip confirm the report comes from Swiftflip. We store the report with a keyed hash of that record, not your Apple Account, and only we read it. We keep reports until you ask us to delete yours at robin@hksw.io. On a Mac with macOS 26, the same items open an email to support@hksw.io instead.
Brevier
Brevier stores your library, highlights, notes, reading positions and Explain conversations on your device and, when iCloud is on, in your own iCloud account. We cannot see them. Reading time for goals syncs the same way. Goal settings and the optional reminder stay on the device.
Explain is a Premium feature that sends book text to our server. Brevier asks before the first request, and Settings can turn Explain off. The rest of this section applies to Explain only.
What Explain sends
Your question, the passage you selected or the page you are on, related passages from the book and your highlights and notes near that place. Also the book's title, authors, translators, editors and language, the chapter you are in and how far you have read, the earlier questions and answers in that conversation and up to eight of your earlier questions about the book. To remember the story so far, Explain sends sections of the text you have read to be summarized. Text after your reading position is left out unless you turn off Avoid Spoilers.
Who processes it
Anthropic writes the explanations and summaries and returns them through our server to your device. Anthropic does not train its models on these requests and deletes them within 30 days, or keeps them up to two years if its safety systems flag one. For an explanation, Anthropic may run one web search for background.
How requests are identified
Each request carries Apple-signed records of your App Store subscription and your copy of Brevier. Our server verifies them and checks your subscription status with Apple. We store a keyed hash of your original App Store transaction ID. Apple does not give us your name or email, and the hash cannot be reversed to you. It is also the identifier we send to Anthropic.
What we keep
For each request, against that hash: when it ran, whether it finished, its token counts, web searches and estimated cost. We delete these records after 30 days. Questions, book text and explanations are never written to our database.
Otherdesk
Otherdesk stores saved connections on your device and syncs their names, addresses and ports through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available. HK Softworks does not operate a server for this data.
If you save a password, the Mac user name and password are stored in the app’s Keychain and sync separately through iCloud Keychain when available. A device passcode is required to save a password. Credentials saved before version 1.3 move to iCloud Keychain automatically once the app knows your iCloud account, and the original is kept if that fails. Credentials are never stored with the synced connections. They are sent only to the Mac you choose when connecting.
When you sign out of iCloud or change accounts, the previous account’s connections stay on the device, hidden until that account returns. They are not uploaded to another account. App preferences stay on the device. HK Softworks cannot see your screen, passwords or saved connections.
When you choose Add Mac, the app uses Bonjour to find nearby Screen Sharing services. Discovery results stay on this device.
Send Feedback in Settings opens a form in the app. It sends your message, the email address you type if you want a reply, the app and system versions, and your device model and language. App Attest and the App Store's signed record of your copy of Otherdesk confirm the message comes from Otherdesk. We store the message with a keyed hash of that record, not your Apple Account, and only we read it. We keep messages until you ask us to delete yours at robin@hksw.io. Feedback is not used for tracking.
The app has no separate app account, analytics or ads. Deleting a Mac removes it and its saved credentials from your other devices as they sync. Removing a saved password also removes its iCloud Keychain item. Devices that are offline receive these changes when they sync again.

Diskbite
Diskbite measures how much space the folders on your Mac take. It reads file names, sizes and dates. It does not read what is inside your files, it has no network access and it sends nothing to HK Softworks.
The disks and folders you allow, your favorites and the suggestions you hide are saved in the app's settings on your Mac. Last Opened dates come from Spotlight on your Mac. Full Disk Access is optional and only lets Diskbite measure folders macOS protects.
The app has no accounts, analytics or ads. Move to Trash moves items to the Trash on your Mac. Nothing is deleted until you empty it.
Selling or sharing
We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA, and we do not use data for targeted advertising. Anthropic processes Swiftflip's Cloud AI requests and Brevier's Explain requests on our behalf, as described above.
If you contact us
Email to robin@hksw.io, the contact form, and product waitlists go through Formspree. We use what you send only to reply or to notify a launch, and we keep it only as long as needed.
Your rights
Laws like the GDPR and CCPA grant rights such as access and deletion. If you used the contact or waitlist form, we can provide or delete that record. If you want to exercise a right, email robin@hksw.io and we will help.

We update this page when our data practices change and give notice before those changes take effect.

- : Updated Otherdesk for version 1.5. A new Send Feedback form sends your message, an optional email address and basic app and device details to HK Softworks. We still cannot see your screen, passwords or saved connections.
- : Updated Swiftflip for version 1.22. Anthropic replaces OpenAI as the processor for Cloud AI. New Explore and Feedback sections describe the event deck downloads and the in-app feedback form.
