Use Siri and Shortcuts with Swiftflip
Add a card, open a deck, start practice or search your library with Siri, then combine Swiftflip actions in the Shortcuts app.
Swiftflip’s App Shortcuts work without building a shortcut first. You can also use the same actions in your own shortcuts on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Try Siri
Say one of these phrases:
- Add a card in Swiftflip or Create a flashcard in Swiftflip
- Practice due cards in Swiftflip or Study flashcards in Swiftflip
- Practice a deck in Swiftflip
- Open a deck in Swiftflip
- Search in Swiftflip
- Check due cards in Swiftflip or What’s due in Swiftflip
- View decks in Swiftflip
- View insights in Swiftflip or Show my progress in Swiftflip
Follow any prompts for a deck or card content. English and Swedish App Shortcut phrases are included. Use the phrase in your configured Siri language.
Choose an action in Shortcuts
Open the Shortcuts app, create a shortcut and search for Swiftflip. Choose from:

Configure the options the action offers and run it once. Actions that show a deck, search or practice can open Swiftflip; they are not background study sessions.
Build a small routine
Start with one action, such as Practice Due Cards. Give the shortcut a recognizable name and add it to a Shortcuts widget if you want a Home Screen button.
On devices that support personal automations, you can run a Swiftflip action at a chosen time or when a Focus changes. Configure that trigger in Shortcuts and test it before relying on it. Triggers and confirmation options differ by platform.
If Siri does not find the action
Open Swiftflip once after installation or an update, check Siri’s language and permission settings, then look for the action in Shortcuts. Try a phrase above including the word Swiftflip. Running the action from Shortcuts helps distinguish an app problem from Siri understanding a different phrase.
