Add widgets and the watch complication

Put a due-card count on your Home Screen, Lock Screen and Apple Watch face with Swiftflip widgets and the Due Cards complication.

Swiftflip widgets keep your due-card count in sight, so practice stays on your radar without opening the app. This guide covers the iPhone and iPad widgets and the Apple Watch complication. See the widgets overview for what each one looks like.

Home Screen widgets

Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen, tap the add button in the corner, then search for Swiftflip. There are three widgets:

  • Due Now shows how many cards are due right now. When you are caught up it says so.
  • Deck Queue lists your top decks with cards due, so you can jump into a specific one.
  • Week Rhythm shows your review activity over the last seven days.

Tap a widget to open Swiftflip. Due Now takes you into practice, a Deck Queue row opens that deck and Week Rhythm opens your insights.

Lock Screen and StandBy

Due Now also works on the Lock Screen. Edit the Lock Screen, tap a widget slot and pick Swiftflip. It fits the small circular, rectangular and inline shapes. When your iPhone is charging on its side, the same widget appears in StandBy.

Apple Watch complication

On Apple Watch, the Due Cards complication shows your due count on the watch face. Touch and hold the face, tap Edit, choose a circular slot and pick Swiftflip Due Cards. From then on your due count is one glance away.

How they update

Widgets and the complication refresh through the day and right after you practice, so the count reflects your latest session. The number comes from your synced library, so it matches across your devices. Widgets are available on iPhone and iPad. On Mac, keep an eye on the count in the app itself.

Pair widgets with study reminders so you both see the count and get a nudge when cards are waiting.

Set up study reminders

Turn on Swiftflip reminders, choose how often they arrive and understand why the on and off switch is set on each device.
