Keyboard shortcuts in Swiftflip on Mac

A quick reference for practice, deck, card, file and Insights shortcuts in Swiftflip on Mac.

Swiftflip on Mac is built around native menu commands, which means most actions have a keyboard shortcut. This page is a quick reference, grouped by where the shortcut lives in the menu bar.

Practice

  • Space: flip the current card
  • Right arrow: mark the current card correct
  • Left arrow: mark the current card incorrect
  • ⌘ Z: undo the last grade in the current session
  • ⌘ .: end the current practice session (with a confirmation)

File menu

  • ⌘ Shift I: import (Anki, CSV or Swiftflip archive)
  • ⌘ E: export the current deck or library

These open the standard macOS file panels rather than custom dialogs.

Decks, folders and cards

  • ⌘ Shift N: new deck
  • ⌘ Ctrl N: new folder
  • ⌘ Option N: new smart deck
  • ⌘ N: new card in the current deck
  • ⌘ I: deck or folder info (counts and stats)
  • ⌘ Delete: move the selected deck, folder or card to Recently Deleted
  • ⌘ Shift R: Practice All on the selected deck or folder

Insights

  • ⌘ 1: switch to the first Insights section
  • ⌘ 2: switch to the second Insights section
  • ⌘ 3: switch to the third Insights section
  • ⌘ R: refresh the current Insights view

Sheets

Editor sheets (cards, decks, folders, smart decks) follow the macOS standard:

  • Esc: cancel and close the sheet
  • Return: confirm the default action

In the editable card table, double-click a cell to edit it inline. The Front field is automatically focused on a new row.

Why this matters

Keyboard-first workflow is the difference between a Mac app and a phone app blown up. If you build decks on Mac, learning these shortcuts removes most of the friction from card creation and review.
