Restore files from a Seyvd backup
Browse a snapshot and restore selected Mac files to their original folder or a new location.
Mac
Seyvd restores from a completed backup snapshot. You can recover one file, several files or a folder without restoring the whole backup.
Find the right snapshot
- Select Backups in the sidebar.
- Choose a completed backup from the list.
- Open Files in the detail pane.
- Expand folders or use the search field.
- Select the files and folders you want back.
You can use Quick Look from a file’s context menu before restoring it.
Restore the selection
- Select Restore in the toolbar or context menu.
- Choose Restore to original location when the original path is still correct, or select another folder.
- Review the destination and any conflicts.
- If Seyvd finds an existing file, decide whether to replace it. Replacements use a temporary file and an atomic rename.
- Select Restore.
The result view lists any file that could not be recovered while allowing the rest of the selection to finish. Use Open Folder or Show in Finder when the restore completes.
