Otherdesk 1.4.0 gives each Mac an icon

Give each saved Mac a symbol in a color or an emoji, get icon suggestions from Apple Intelligence and see a short welcome on a new install.

An icon for each Mac

Edit a Mac and tap Icon to choose a symbol in a color, or an emoji. The icon shows next to the Mac in your list, so the Macs you save are easier to tell apart at a glance.

With Apple Intelligence on, the icon picker suggests icons that fit the Mac’s name.

Icons sync with iCloud along with your saved Macs, so they appear on your other iPhone or iPad.

A welcome for new installs

A new installation opens with a short welcome: how to connect, how to control the Mac by touch and how iCloud sync works. It also says where to turn on Screen Sharing on the Mac, in System Settings, General, Sharing.

If you are updating from an earlier version, you see What’s New instead.

Otherdesk connects to a Mac with Screen Sharing enabled, on the same local network or over a VPN.
