Create or import a Smartbok company

Smartbok keeps each company in its own folder. You can create a workspace, open an existing one or import an SIE export from Bokio or Fortnox.

Create a new company

1. Select Create a Company.
2. Enter the company name and organization number.
3. Choose Aktiebolag (AB) or Enskild firma.
4. Select the accounting method and VAT period.
5. Confirm the fiscal-year dates.
6. Choose where the company folder should live.
7. Select Create.

These choices drive VAT periods and fiscal-year grouping. You can edit company details later, but check the dates before recording live activity.

Import existing books

1. Select Import from Bokio or Fortnox.
2. Choose a .sie or .se export.
3. Review the company identity, fiscal year and imported counts.
4. Confirm company form, accounting method and VAT period. SIE does not carry every setting.
5. Choose the destination folder.
6. Select Import.

Smartbok validates the source and refuses to import over a non-empty bookkeeping destination.
